A Letter From Our Founder
I launched Copenhagen Collections’ Black & White label to offer you what I could not find when I was shopping among bridal boutiques. I sought a comfortable beautifully designed natural fiber wedding dress. The options presented to me were made from polyester, a manmade, mass-produced plastic fiber derived from petroleum oil. I could not bargain with myself to walk down the aisle in a dress made from plastic.
Additionally, I did not share the traditional view of wearing my dress only once. In my everyday life, I prefer dresses that are versatile and can be worn again and again. I designed my dress to look like a one piece, but the top and bottom were in fact separates.
Thus, like my Danish great-great grandmother, I decided to make my own two-piece wedding gown from silk and my future husband’s tuxedo from fine wool. Both silk and wool are natural very breathable fabrics allowing us both to be all the more comfortable while sharing our vows and saying “I do.”
I look forward to making the wedding dress, tuxedo, or suit of your dreams!
