Our Story
Defined by her past, with the intent of designing for a better tomorrow; founder & CEO, Ashley Stasic pays homage to her family’s lineage.
In Copenhagen, Denmark, Ashley’s great-great grandmother Thora, worked in the Danish palace as a seamstress for the royal family.
In 1890 Thora sold her hair to pay for one-way tickets across the Atlantic Ocean to the United States. Arriving at Ellis Island, Thora, her husband Jens and their seven children eventually settled in the Midwest.
Four generations later, young Ashley started learning how to sew and quilt from her great-aunt Ruth.
Ashley’s passion for creation continued and eventually led her to obtaining a fashion degree from Stephen’s College. After spending more than a decade in the industry, she’s decided to blend her love of nature and sewing to create clothing exclusively from natural fiber fabrics. It is with a strong sense of luxury and a fresh point of view that we bring to you, Copenhagen Collections!
